The Birth of Electronic Music
Assoc. Prof. İlke Boran
27 September 2019 / 18:30
Pera Museum’s new talk and performance series invites you to explore the fields that interact with electronic music!
A fruit of collaboration with Istanbul-based musical collective ÆVOM, “Electronic Crossovers” looks at a range of fields and disciplines that feed on and interact with electronic music, namely technology, literature, cinema, environment, psychology, sociology, computer games, politics, urban transformation, nature and philosophy. The first event of the series hosts a talk by Assoc. Prof. İlke Boran on electronic music.
The emergence of electronic music is a major milestone. Starting from the 1870s when sound recording was developed, a number of 20th century composers availed of this technology to write new pieces, ushering in an unexplored new era. The laws and rules of this pristine world of sound emerged in parallel to the progress in this area.
The event will take place at the Pera Museum Auditorium. Free admission; drop in. The talk will be in Turkish.
