The early efforts that began in Güneşli as an Instructor Course in March of 1940 were soon moved to Haruniye county under founding director Ahmet Lütfü Dağlar and were continued in the buildings Germans had left behind were orphan Armenians were once gathered in the 1915s. Expanding over time with students recruited from Seyhan, Maraş, İçel, Hatay and Antep, Düziçi Village Institute trained 536 teachers until it was shut down. Writer Osman Şahin only spent one week at Düziçi and was later sent to Akçadağ Village Institute in Malatya.
