Since 1955, Mrs. Bertha used to visit the family grave in Del Roble Cemetery in Monterrey, Mexico. Next to this tomb, lies the abandoned grave of American soldier Edmond William Quear. The inscription in this grave explains he died at the tender age of 22 in 1946, just one year after the end of World War II. Mrs. Bertha intrigued by this, used to leave a flower for the soldier every time she visited the cemetery. This became a family tradition that endured even after her death and carried out by her sons and nephews. One of her nephews takes on the task of investigating the origin of this soldier, through a trip to California, Texas and Northern Ireland, unraveling the amazing story of Edmond William Quear.
