“FUNDAMENTALLY WHO AM I? WHAT AM I?”
Pera Film presents "Fundamentally! Who Am I? What Am I?" a program exploring the peculiar and particular stories of humankind's imaginative and destructive desires, of physical, obtrusive transformations into bizarre, odd monsters, beasts and creatures. Mostly involving mad scientists and their wild ambitions, the six films in the program dwell into the genetically deformed state of beings as well as the extreme emotional alterations. Made in the 1930s and 1940s, this selection exemplifies the grand influence of science on the physical and emotional beings told through amazing nostalgic, cinematic imaginative stories. This program is organized in parallel to Pera Museum's exhibition "Fundamentally Human: Contemporary Art and Neuroscience" taking place between 7 April - 3 July 2011.
