Beşikdüzü Village Institute was founded as an Instructor Course in 1939 and was converted into an institute the following year following the admission of 25 students with Hürrem Arman as the founding director. Expanding with students admitted from Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, Gümüşhane, Rize and Hopa, Beşikdüzü Village Institute trained 499 instructors and 1572 teachers until it was shut down. Before it was closed, all the male students of the institute were sent to other establishments and the female students were brought together like a kind of harem at Beşikdüzü.
