TISFEST, a brand new cinema formation, a festival and much more! If you think your future is in cinema this is your place!
TISFEST isn’t just a short film competition; it’s a film festival with a broad selection. There are Masterclass sessions open to public given by well-known film industry professionals. Young filmmakers will have the opportunity to share their ideas and get feedback. The five-day event will also include special screenings.
Some of the highlights of the festival include: Scriptwriting workshop with Ercan Kesal, writer of Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "Once Upon A Time In Anatolia”, “Rising Movements in New Turkish Cinema” workshop with Habertürk writer Kerem Akça and Storyboard design workshop with Semih Bulgur.
The festival, close to 200 shorts includes the “International Panorama” shorts section with 13 different selections. Important selections are “Shoot Films Not People” an anti-war film, “Generation Z” a film exploring youth problems and “Staterror” a film that questions the terror perception.
The “Conscience Films” section shown with the support of Hrant Dink Foundation, includes “Ağlama Anne Güzel Yerdeyim” directed by Ümit Kıvanç and “Sabah Yıldızı: Sabahattin Ali” by Metin Avdaç.
The award ceremony, where the best from hundreds of films that joined the competition will be selected, will be held at Pera Museum 9 February 2013. The three best will be chosen in fiction category while in animation and documentary only one film of each will be selected.

All screenings of all foreign films will have Turkish subtitles. All screenings of all Turkish films will have English subtitles. In cases of technical problems, which cannot be repaired, the film will be shown without subtitles. All the workshops and panels will be held in Turkish. All the screenings will be free of charge. There will be no intermissions at the screenings.
