Light Turns into Sound! "Braun Tube Jazz Band"

WADA Ei, young media artist won this year's Excellence Award the 2010 Japan Media Arts Festival in Tokyo. Pera Museum hosted the performance of WADA with his award-winning work "Braun Tube Jazz Band" on the 17th and 18th September. With this work the artist revealed the great relationship between sound, image and light.

The artist uses his hands as pseudo antennas and can play several tube televisions with a VCR as a percussion instrument, a light synthesizer. When the artist touches the TV display, light returns to sound!
