"Dashing Nick" Life and Work of Nickolas Muray

In a period covering 50 years, Hungarian-American photographer Nickolas Muray (1892-1965) gained, established, and maintained, a groundbreaking career. He was a commercial photographer and a photographer of celebrities, photographing everything and everyone from presidents to pea soup. He was also an Olympic fencer and a lover of women. In this conference, Dr. Salomon Grimberg, curator of the exhibition Nickolas Muray: Portrait of A Photographer, will present an overview of Muray’s life and contribution to the field of photography, as well as a psychological understanding of Muray’s complex life and how it is reflected in his creative process.
