TALK CENTRE POMPIDOU FILM PROGRAM: HORS PISTES
With the collaboration of Centre Pompidou Eléonore Weber – Geraldine Gomez 8 November 2008
Les Hommes Sans Gravite is a film within the crumbling walls of a
house in ruins, two young men - a lord and a gypsy - discover one
another physically and intellectually. Bodies and decors are filmed as
echoes of one another, gracefully and languidly. Through a mise en
scène between frailty and persistance, Eléonore Weber’s film follows
the very movements of desire. A graduate of political philosophy,
Eléonore Weber developed her style first in the theatre, then in film.
Also a playwright, she created a piece, later produced at the Théâtre
de la Bastille in Paris in 2007, then with a different piece at the
Festival d’Avignon. Weber has directed a documentary, also her shorts
have been selected for numerous festivals. Geraldine Gomez is the film
programmer at Centre Pompidou.
