Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation

Focusing on neurodegenerative diseases in its endeavors in healthcare, Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation aspires to train skilled scientists through collaborations with outstanding universities and institutions in the world and consequently help Turkey become one of the leading countries in this field. In this respect, the Foundation has carried out an effective and fruitful collaboration with Harvard University Medical School and Boğaziçi University and has launched Boğaziçi University Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Neurodegeneration Research Laboratory (NDRL) in 2005. The objective of the Foundation is to closely follow worldwide developments in this particular area and to facilitate the exchange of quality information on an international platform. As part of this objective, the Foundation has initiated a series of conferences, entitled Suna Kıraç Neurodegeneration Conferences, to be held biannually. Organized in April 2007 under the heading, “New Horizons in the Diagnosis and Treatment of ALS,” with the participation of scientists from across the world, the first conference has received considerable attention from international circles of science and medicine.
